Overview
The Aarohan Social Innovation Awards is a contest run by Infosys Foundation that rewards technology-based social innovations addressing real problems in India with the potential for large-scale impact. The awards focus on three sectors: education, healthcare, and women empowerment. The program has run multiple editions and is open to citizens of India residing in India over the age of 18.
Eligibility
- Open to all citizens of India, residing in India, over the age of 18
- Employees and directors of Infosys Limited and Infosys Foundation and their immediate family members are not eligible
- Winners from previous editions cannot apply for three subsequent editions
- Only one original entry per applicant, not previously published or entered in other contests
- The featured project must be a fully functioning prototype, not a concept, idea, or mockup
Funding Purpose
Prize money, up to Rs 50 lakh per individual winner from a total pool of Rs 2 crore, is intended to help scale up existing social innovations that have already been proven as working prototypes.
Application Process
Applicants visit the Aarohan Social Innovation Awards website and complete the online form, submitting a video (in English or Hindi) describing their work, alongside an uploaded document of at least 800 words answering all judging criteria pointers. A qualified panel of judges evaluates all eligible entries; the highest-scoring entries undergo an audit, and the top 30 to 35 entries that qualify in the audit advance to the final round.
