Overview

The EIC Seed Fund is a set of funding schemes run by IIM Lucknow Enterprise Incubation Centre (IIML EIC), a section 8 not for profit company established by IIM Lucknow at its Noida campus, with backing from NSTEDB under the Department of Science and Technology and the Uttar Pradesh State Government. IIML EIC invests in tech driven, early stage startups with high potential and national impact through several distinct instruments.

Eligibility

  • IIML-Venture Fund: startup must be registered in India and incubated at IIML EIC, with a minimum 51% Indian promoter shareholding, and must be DPIIT recognised
  • NIDHI Seed Support Program: requires a minimum of three months of incubation at IIML EIC, with the same Indian promoter shareholding and DPIIT recognition requirements
  • Startup India Seed Fund Scheme: company must be incorporated within 2 years of application, must not have received more than Rs. 10 lakh from other government schemes

Funding Purpose

Across the three schemes, funds support different stages: the IIML-Venture Fund provides up to Rs. 25 lakh via Convertible Cumulative Preference Shares, the NIDHI Seed Support Program provides up to Rs. 50 lakh via equity or quasi-equity instruments, and the Startup India Seed Fund Scheme provides up to Rs. 50 lakh via Optional Convertible Debt.
