Overview

A biennial flagship recognition program, formerly known as the Innovation for India Awards. It explicitly carries no monetary prize; winners instead receive strategic support including mentorship, investor introductions, media visibility, and coaching. There are two main entry categories, Business (for-profit startups with an innovation implemented within the last 10 years) and Social (not-for-profits, NGOs, or CSR-funded organisations within 16 years), plus an invitation-only Global Gamechanger category chosen by the Foundation's Governing Council. The 11th edition (Indian Innovation Icons 2027) opened applications on June 22, 2026 and has since closed; the grand finale is scheduled for March 4, 2027.

Eligibility

  • Business category: India-based for-profit startup with a real, implemented innovation within the last 10 years
  • Social category: India-based not-for-profit, government, or CSR-funded entity within 16 years
  • Global Gamechanger category: invitation-only, selected by the Governing Council

Funding Purpose

No monetary prize; recognition, mentorship, investor introductions, and media visibility.

Application Process

Free, online-only application via the Marico Innovation Foundation website; multiple submissions are allowed for distinct innovations. Applications for the current cycle are closed; the award runs biennially.
