School Innovation Marathon (ATL Marathon)

Overview

A school-student innovation competition run by Atal Innovation Mission (NITI Aayog), jointly with the Ministry of Education's Innovation Cell and partners, open to both Atal Tinkering Lab and non-ATL schools. Teams identify a real community problem and build a working prototype solution, with results feeding into national, state, and district-level recognition, plus an internship pipeline with corporate partners for top teams. The 2025-26 cycle has closed; the program runs annually.

Eligibility

  • Students in Classes 6 to 12
  • Teams of 2 to 3 students plus one teacher-mentor
  • Open to Atal Tinkering Lab and non-ATL, private, government, and aided schools

Cash prizes distributed across national, state, and district-level winning teams, plus Student Innovator Programme internships with corporate partners for top teams; exact prize figures are not confirmed on the official site.
