Overview
The Startup India Seed Fund Scheme (SISFS) is a Government of India initiative launched in 2021 by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) to give early-stage startups financial assistance for prototype development, market entry, and commercialization. At AIC SKU (Atal Incubation Centre, Sri Krishnadevaraya University, Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh), the scheme is administered locally as part of the incubator's mandate to support Tier 2/3 city entrepreneurship in sectors like agriculture, healthcare, sustainability, and technology. AIC-SKU reports having disbursed Rs 1.67 crore across 12 funded startups under its programs.
Eligibility
- Startup must be recognized by DPIIT
- Incorporated not more than 2 years before the date of application
- At least 51% shareholding held by Indian promoters at the time of application
- Should not have received more than Rs 10 lakh of monetary support under any other Central or State Government scheme
Funding Purpose
Funds are meant to help startups move from an idea to a viable, investable venture, covering proof of concept, prototype development, product trials, market entry, and commercialization activities.
Application Process
DPIIT-recognized startups apply through the national portal at seedfund.startupindia.gov.in using their startup recognition login credentials and can select up to 3 preferred incubators such as AIC-SKU.
