Overview

This is the national Startup India Seed Fund Scheme (SISFS) as implemented through BITS BIRAC BioNEST, the bioincubator at BITS Pilani's Goa campus. It provides financial assistance to help early-stage startups move from concept through commercialization, and BITS BIRAC BioNEST acts as the incubator partner processing and supporting applications for startups in its network. The incubator has so far supported 12 startups through this route, spanning sectors like electric vehicle components, e-commerce logistics, waste-to-nutrient conversion, AI-based wellness, and renewable energy management.

Eligibility

  • Startups in priority sectors: Deeptech and Hardware, Healthcare and Wellness, Environmental Management (waste and water), Education Technology, Agriculture, Food Processing, Energy Solutions, and Mobility and Transportation
  • Applying and being supported through the BITS BIRAC BioNEST incubator

Funding Purpose

The scheme funds proof of concept, prototype development, product trials, market entry, and commercialization, supporting startups across the full early-stage journey from idea validation through to going to market.

Application Process

Entrepreneurs apply directly through the official national SISFS portal at seedfund.startupindia.gov.in, selecting or being routed to BITS BIRAC BioNEST as their incubator partner.
