Startup India Seed Fund Scheme (via BITS Pilani TBI)

Overview

The Startup India Seed Fund Scheme (SISFS) is a Government of India (DPIIT) scheme providing financial assistance to early-stage startups, implemented locally through approved incubators. PIEDS (Pilani Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Society), the Technology Business Incubator at BITS Pilani, is one of the SISFS-approved incubators, offering up to Rs 50 lakh in seed funding support to incubated startups.

Eligibility

  • Startup must be DPIIT-recognized and incorporated not more than 2 years before applying
  • Must have a business idea for a product or service with market fit, viable commercialization, and scope for scaling
  • Must be technology-driven in its core product/service, business model, distribution model, or methodology
  • Shareholding must be at least 51% held by Indian promoters
  • Must not have received more than Rs 10 lakh in financial support from any other central or state government scheme

Funding Purpose

Funds are meant to support prototype development, proof-of-concept work, product trials, and market entry and commercialization of a startup's solution.
