Overview

The Ubharte Sitaare Programme, administered by the Export-Import Bank of India (EXIM Bank), identifies Indian companies positioned as future champions with good export potential that possess technological, product, or process advantages, even if currently underperforming financially. The bank provides a blend of equity or equity-like instruments, debt financing, and technical assistance to help these companies scale into globally competitive exporters.

Eligibility

  • Company must have a unique value proposition matching global market requirements
  • Must be fundamentally strong with acceptable financials and an outward (export) orientation
  • Small and mid-sized companies with the ability to penetrate global markets, with annual turnover of up to approximately INR 500 crore
  • Should demonstrate strong management, quality focus, and a viable business model
  • Target sectors include Automobiles, Aerospace, Capital Goods, Chemicals, Defence, Food Processing, IT/ITeS, Machinery, Pharmaceuticals, Precision Engineering, and Textiles

Funding Purpose

Support combines equity or equity-like instruments; debt financing including term loans for modernization, technology upgrades, R&D, and production facility improvements; and Technical Assistance covering product adaptation, certifications, training, market development, overseas travel, sector studies, and Techno Economic Viability studies.
