Uttarakhand Venture Fund (via Startup Uttarakhand)
Offered by Startup Uttarakhand
Overview
The Uttarakhand Venture Fund (UVF) is a Government of Uttarakhand initiative under the Uttarakhand Startup Policy 2023, designed to channel growth-stage investment into the state's startup ecosystem. With a corpus of Rs. 200 crore, the government acts as a Limited Partner, contributing up to 50 percent of the corpus of SEBI-registered Category I or II Alternative Investment Funds, which in turn invest in startups across priority sectors.
Eligibility
- Investee startups are selected by the empanelled AIFs, drawn from Uttarakhand's pool of registered startups
- Priority sectors include tourism, agribusiness, IT, manufacturing, energy, healthcare, and education
Funding Purpose
The fund's capital, deployed through AIFs, is meant to back growth-stage startups in the state's priority sectors of tourism, agribusiness, IT, manufacturing, energy, healthcare, and education.
Application Process
Startups do not apply to the government directly; instead, SEBI-registered Category I or II AIFs apply for empanelment through a Request for Proposal process, based on sector alignment, fund commitment, regulatory compliance, and investment capability.
