Overview

Described by K-DISC as one of the world's largest student innovation programmes, open to school and higher-education students across Kerala, with multiple eligibility streams including one for students above age 16 and a scholarship stream for under-25 special-school students. Students register directly online, progressing through district-level then state-level evaluation, with separate funding available for prototype development through the YIP Protothon track. The most recently completed edition (YIP 8.0, 2025) registered over 4.8 lakh students and 47,000+ ideas; a new edition is expected in 2026.

  • School and higher-education students across Kerala, across multiple eligibility streams by age and institution type

Funding Purpose

District-winning teams receive Rs 25,000 each; state-winning teams receive Rs 50,000 each, plus separate YIP Protothon funding for prototype development.
