Overview

AP Build is a prototype-stage funding scheme under the Andhra Pradesh Innovation Society (APIS), focused on product development and manufacturing innovation for startups and MSMEs in Andhra Pradesh. One current edition, the "Build with AI: RTIH Startup Sprint," is run through the Ratan Tata Innovation Hub (RTIH) under the state government and offers equity-free prototype funding. It targets technology-driven innovation across sectors such as AI, HealthTech, Agritech, ClimateTech, DeepTech, Manufacturing, Mobility, EdTech, Drones, and Rural Innovation.

Eligibility

  • Prototype-stage startups and MSMEs based in Andhra Pradesh
  • Must have a real operational bottleneck the proposed AI/tech prototype will solve
  • Working on technology-driven innovation in sectors such as AI, HealthTech, Agritech, ClimateTech, DeepTech, Manufacturing, Mobility, EdTech, Drones, or Rural Innovation
  • Start-up/IT companies with turnover under Rs 50 lakh per annum are eligible to submit proposals under the broader APIS innovative-products category

Funding Purpose

The AP Build Grant (reported at roughly Rs 3 to 5 lakh, equity-free) is meant to underwrite the cost of building, testing, and validating a working prototype, moving from concept to a market-ready, tested solution rather than covering later-stage scaling.

Application Process

Applicants apply through the APIS Startup AP portal (apis.ap.gov.in), with the detailed application process shared via a linked document on the portal. Selected teams go through the sprint format culminating in prototype delivery and grant disbursal.
