Overview
The Beyond Bengaluru Cluster Seed Fund is a Government of Karnataka initiative, sponsored by the Department of Electronics, IT, BT and S&T, providing early-stage risk capital to innovation-driven startups located outside Bengaluru. It operates as a SEBI-registered Category I Alternative Investment Fund, Venture Capital Fund, managed by Karnataka Asset Management Company Private Limited (KAMCO) with the Karnataka Digital Economy Mission (KDEM) as strategic partner.
Eligibility
- Must be a Private Limited Company
- Incorporated in Karnataka
- Operating from a Beyond Bengaluru district, with focus clusters including Mysuru, Mangaluru, and Hubballi-Dharwad-Belagavi
- Sector focus includes deep tech, aerospace/aviation/space, robotics and automation, sustainability and climate, energy and clean technologies, IoT, automotive and mobility, water and environmental technologies, manufacturing and Industry 4.0
Funding Purpose
The fund provides dedicated risk capital as equity investment to innovation-driven companies operating outside Bengaluru, intended to help them scale within their regional clusters; applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
Application Process
The process runs in five steps: applicants submit a single common application form, the application is screened against eligibility criteria, it is evaluated by the Cluster Level Advisory Committee, the Fund's Investment Committee makes an investment decision, and selected startups receive capital and support.
