EngSUI (via FITT, IIT Delhi)

Offered by FITT, IIT Delhi

Overview

EngSUI is an initiative of Engineers India Limited (EIL) under the Prime Minister's Startup India flagship programme, aimed at building the startup ecosystem with a specific focus on the oil and gas sector. EIL administers the program in partnership with incubation centers at academic institutions such as IITs, with FITT at IIT Delhi serving as a host institution.

Eligibility

  • Innovation Challenge Scheme A (Proof of Concept): open to any resident Indian citizen, including student innovators
  • Innovation Challenge Scheme B (Fabrication/Prototypes): open to any resident Indian citizen with innovative ideas
  • Start-up Seed Funding: open to start-up entities that have successfully demonstrated proof of concept with support from any government institution or agency
  • Applications can be submitted only through registered Host Institutions/Incubation Centres, not directly by individual applicants

Funding Purpose

Scheme A supports Proof of Concept work with a maximum of Rs. 2 lakhs per proposal or 100 percent of proposal cost, whichever is lower. Scheme B supports fabrication and prototyping with up to Rs. 20 lakhs per proposal. Start-up Seed Funding provides up to Rs. 1 crore per proposal, meant to develop capability to commercially manufacture and supply hardware for oil and gas technologies, new processes relevant to hydrocarbons, IT/IIoT interventions, and related areas including renewable energy and waste-to-energy solutions.

Application Process

Applications are received only through registered Host Institutions/Incubation Centres. Submissions go through eligibility screening and are evaluated against four criteria (proposal content, relevance to focus areas, innovation, and relevance to EIL's business), with a minimum averaged qualifying score of 60. Selected projects sign an MoU with the Host Institution and a project-specific MoA detailing scope, schedule, and payment terms.
