Overview
The GENESIS Matching Investment Program is run by IIT Mandi Catalyst, a technology business incubator in Himachal Pradesh operating under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE). It is designed to accelerate growth-stage startups by combining a matching equity grant with a structured six-month mentorship program covering design thinking and product-market fit, market strategy, technical architecture, customer analysis and valuation, investment documentation, and demo day preparation, culminating in investor introductions.
Eligibility
- Registered as an Indian Private Limited Company with a minimum of 51 percent Indian ownership
- Registered in a Tier-II or Tier-III city
- Holds valid DPIIT certification
- Operates in tech-focused domains such as AI/ML, cybersecurity, IoT, blockchain, fintech, or ed-tech/health-tech
- Has a market-ready product, preferably revenue-generating
- Must not have previously received TIDE 2.0 Scale-up or SAMRIDH support
Funding Purpose
The program provides a 1:1 matching grant of up to 50 lakhs against external funds a startup raises, disbursed as equity to support continued growth, investor readiness, and preparation of investment documentation such as cap tables, shareholder agreements, and term sheets.
