Overview
MeitY TIDE 2.0 (Technology Incubation and Development of Entrepreneurs) is a scheme of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India, that funds and supports incubators to help ICT and deep-tech entrepreneurs. TIDES Business Incubator at IIT Roorkee is one of the incubators implementing this scheme, promoting tech entrepreneurship through financial and technical support to incubators engaged in supporting ICT startups using technologies such as IoT, AI, blockchain, and robotics, in areas of societal relevance. Support flows through the incubator to individual founders as stipends and grants tied to a startup's stage, along with a year of pre-incubation mentoring.
Eligibility
- Applicant must be a citizen of India
- Idea/PoC stage applicants (for EiR support): must have a Proof of Concept, and at least one co-founder willing to work on it full time
- Prototype stage applicants (for grant support): must have a Proof of Concept with an initial prototype ready
- Solution must be ICT-enabled and address a national-priority domain such as healthcare, education, agriculture, financial inclusion, infrastructure, environment/clean tech, or clean energy
- Startup should be registered in India, DPIIT-recognized under Startup India, less than 7 years old, with founders holding at least 51% equity
Funding Purpose
Funding is meant to take an ICT-based idea through validation and prototype development. Idea/PoC stage founders get an Entrepreneur-in-Residence stipend of up to INR 4 lakh plus a year of pre-incubation support; prototype-stage founders get a grant of up to INR 7 lakh plus a year of pre-incubation support to build out the prototype toward a market-ready product.
