Startup India Seed Fund Scheme (via TIDES Business Incubator, IIT Roorkee)

Overview

TIDES (Technology Innovation and Development of Entrepreneurship Society), the business incubator at IIT Roorkee, is one of the incubators empanelled to administer the Startup India Seed Fund Scheme (SISFS), a central government scheme. Through TIDES, eligible startups can access seed-stage grant funding aimed at proof of concept, prototype development, product trials, market entry, and commercialisation. The programme runs continuously rather than in fixed application cycles.

Eligibility

  • Startup must have a viable business idea with market fit and scaling potential
  • Must integrate technology into its core operations or methodology
  • Indian promoters must hold at least 51 percent ownership
  • Prior government funding must not exceed Rs. 10 lakh

Funding Purpose

The scheme provides up to Rs. 20 lakh as a grant in the validation phase for proof-of-concept, prototyping, and product trials, and up to Rs. 50 lakh in the scaling phase for market entry, commercialisation, and expansion.
