Overview
NIDHI-PRAYAS, standing for Promoting and Accelerating Young and Aspiring technology entrepreneurs, is a Department of Science and Technology (DST) initiative administered at Manipal University Technology Business Incubator (MUTBI) to help young innovators convert an idea into a working prototype. It provides prototype funding of up to Rs. 10 lakh per applicant.
Eligibility
- Open to individual innovators without a startup, or to startup founders
- Applicant must be at least 18 years old at the time of application
- Idea must be technology or science-based with commercialization potential
- Prototype must be a physical product, not purely software
- Prototype completion must be feasible within 18 months
- Projects already past the prototype stage are ineligible
Funding Purpose
Funding is meant to convert an idea into a physical prototype, funding prototype development costs for early-stage, pre-commercialization innovators.
Application Process
Applicants submit through an online form when the call is open. Screening takes 6-8 weeks from the closure date. A committee evaluates innovation, commercialization potential, and team capability. Contact: mutbi.mit@manipal.edu, 0820 2925051.
