Overview
The Patent Filing Reimbursement scheme, offered through ABVIL under the Jharkhand Startup Policy 2023, is designed to remove the cost barrier to intellectual property protection for recognized Jharkhand startups by reimbursing their patent filing expenses in full.
Eligibility
- Must be a startup recognized/selected under the Jharkhand Startup Policy 2023
- Must meet the core startup criteria on incorporation date (within 7 years, 10 for biotech) and turnover (not exceeding Rs 25 crore)
Funding Purpose
The scheme provides 100% reimbursement of patent filing costs, intended specifically to encourage recognized startups to protect their intellectual property without bearing the filing expense themselves.
Application Process
Startups first register and get selected/recognized by the State Evaluation Board via the ABVIL portal (abvil.jharkhand.gov.in). Once recognized with a certificate, they become eligible to claim the patent filing reimbursement through the established ABVIL procedures.
