Overview

The R&D and Marketing Support Fund is run by the Mizoram Startup Mission (MSUM) to foster innovation and accelerate the development of new technologies, products, and services among startups, incubators, and research institutions in Mizoram. It has two tracks, R&D Support for Startups and a Marketing Support Fund, both aimed at early-stage and DPIIT-recognised startups with viable, innovative, and scalable business ideas.

Eligibility

  • Winners of the Mizoram Kailawn competition, or DPIIT-recognised startups meeting specific requirements
  • Must demonstrate a scalable business model with an innovative focus
  • For R&D support, proof of active R&D activity is required, with early-stage companies having prototypes preferred
  • Requires an experienced team with business and technical expertise and a clear IP management strategy

Funding Purpose

Combined R&D and Marketing support is capped at a maximum of Rs. 2 lakh per startup, provided as grants, equity investments, or convertible notes, disbursed in tranches tied to milestones over a duration of 6 months to 2 years, meant to support R&D activity and market development respectively.
