Overview
The Seed Capital Fund Scheme (SCFS) is implemented by the Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) with support from the Jammu and Kashmir government, as a component of the Sher-e-Kashmir Employment and Welfare Programme for Youth (SKEWPY). It provides one-time seed money to eligible youth to make their business plans suitable for bank financing, with JKEDI partnering with J&K Bank to streamline access to additional loan funding at favorable interest rates.
Eligibility
- State Subject of Jammu and Kashmir, age group 18 to 40 years
- Minimum qualification of 10+2 or above
- Must be unemployed and registered with the concerned employment exchange
- Only new entrants to entrepreneurship are covered
- No income ceiling applies for coverage under the scheme
Funding Purpose
Seed money of up to Rs 7.5 lakh functions as a one-time grant, equivalent to 35 percent of project cost up to a maximum of Rs 4 lakh for undergraduates, intended to make the entrepreneur's business plan bankable so that remaining project costs can be financed through J&K Bank loans at favorable interest rates.
