Overview
The Youth Startup Loan Scheme (YSLS) is a direct financing program run by the Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) under the Sher-e-Kashmir Employment and Welfare Programme for Youth (SKEWPY). It provides loans for launching new ventures in Jammu and Kashmir, aiming to address youth unemployment and encourage entrepreneurship, and includes a mandatory training component.
Eligibility
- Unemployed State Subject of Jammu and Kashmir
- Age group 18 to 40 years
- Minimum qualification of 10+2
Funding Purpose
Loans of up to Rs 8 lakh, at 6 percent simple interest, finance startup projects and can cover up to 90 percent of project cost. Entrepreneurs covered under the scheme must undergo a mandatory three-week training component using experiential learning methods.
Application Process
