Overview
The Startup India Seed Fund Scheme (SISFS) is a DPIIT-run Government of India program providing early-stage capital to startups with innovative ideas, bridging the funding gap between initial concept and venture capital readiness. AIC-ALEAP We-Hub administers the scheme locally and was sanctioned SISFS funds in August 2021, describing itself as the only incubator from both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana to receive that sanction at the time.
Eligibility
- Startup must be DPIIT registered
- Selected by AIC-ALEAP We-Hub's Seed Fund committee
- Must adhere strictly to the incubator's facility guidelines
- Incorporated not more than 2 years before application, and at least 51% Indian promoter shareholding
Funding Purpose
Capital is meant for proof of concept, prototype development, product trials, market entry, and commercialization, given as a milestone-based grant of up to Rs 20 lakh and/or convertible debt or debt-linked instruments of up to Rs 50 lakh for market entry and commercialization stages.
Application Process
Applicants apply through the national SISFS portal at seedfund.startupindia.gov.in using DPIIT recognition credentials and select AIC-ALEAP We-Hub as their preferred incubator; the incubator's own Seed Fund committee then screens and selects applicants.
