Startup India Seed Fund Scheme (via AIC CCMB)

Overview

AIC-CCMB was awarded the Startup India Seed Fund Scheme (SISFS), the Government of India's flagship program to provide capital at the seed and proof-of-concept stage, with a focus on life sciences startups.

Eligibility

  • Must be recognized by DPIIT
  • Business registered for no more than two years
  • Must be a Private Limited Company, Registered Partnership Firm, or LLP; sole proprietorships and public limited companies are not eligible
  • Must use technology-driven solutions in its product, business model, core services, or distribution methods
  • Startups that have already received more than Rs 10 lakh in funding or aid from Central or State Governments are not eligible

Funding Purpose

Up to Rs 20 lakh is provided as a grant for validation of proof of concept, prototype development, or product trials, disbursed in milestone-based instalments. Up to Rs 50 lakh of investment is available for market entry, commercialization, or scaling up, through convertible debentures, debt, or debt-linked instruments.

Application Process

Eligible startups apply through the Startup India portal. Funds are not disbursed directly to startups but routed through DPIIT-recognized incubators such as AIC-CCMB, which evaluate applications, select qualifying startups, and release grant amounts accordingly.
