Overview

The Startup India Seed Fund Scheme (SISFS) is a Government of India (DPIIT) scheme that provides financial assistance to early stage startups for proof of concept, prototype development, product trials, market entry and commercialisation. At IIIT Bangalore, it is delivered through the IIITB Innovation Centre, located at Electronics City Phase 1, Bengaluru, one of the incubators empanelled nationally to disburse SISFS funds.

Eligibility

  • Startup must be DPIIT recognised
  • Incorporated within 2 years of the date of application
  • Must not have received more than Rs. 10 lakh of monetary support under any other central or state government scheme
  • Minimum 51% shareholding held by Indian promoters at the time of application

Funding Purpose

SISFS funding is meant for proof of concept validation, prototype development, product trials and market entry or commercialisation work, disbursed through the incubator as seed investment and/or grant in aid, based on milestones agreed with the incubator's screening committee.

Applications are made through the SISFS page at ic.iiitb.ac.in/sisfs/, IIITB Innovation Centre's local landing page for the national scheme, with the underlying application and eligibility guidelines managed on the national Startup India Seed Fund Scheme portal.
