Overview
The Sustenance Allowance is a component of the Uttar Pradesh State Startup Policy, administered through StartinUP, the state's nodal startup portal. It provides monthly financial support to help idea-stage, DPIIT/state-recognized startups cover operational expenses during their initial growth phase, for up to 25 startups per incubator per year.
Eligibility
- Startup must be recognized under the UP State Startup Policy
- Allowance is targeted at startups at the idea stage, capped at 25 startups per incubator per year
- Startups with women, transgender, or differently-abled cofounders holding more than 26% equity are eligible for an additional 50% incentive
Funding Purpose
The allowance is meant to cover a startup's operational expenses during its initial growth phase, giving idea-stage founders monthly financial support before they generate revenue.

Applicants register their startup and apply through the StartinUP portal (startinup.up.gov.in) or contact the startup helpline (0522-4130303, Ext. 302) for detailed procedural guidance.
