GUSEC Seed, NIDHI SSS (via GUSEC)

Overview

GUSEC Seed is a seed funding initiative established through the Seed Support System (SSS) scheme of the National Initiative for Developing and Harnessing Innovations (NIDHI), a flagship seed funding scheme of the National Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Development Board (NSTEDB), an autonomous board under India's Department of Science and Technology. Through GUSEC Seed, startups incubated at GUSEC (Gujarat University) can access seed funding of up to Rs. 50,00,000, disbursed in tranches against milestone progress, as an investment against equity, debt, or a mix of both.

Eligibility

  • Startup must be a registered Private Limited company or LLP in India
  • Indian promoters must hold at least 51 percent shareholding
  • Startup must be an Indian startup, not an Indian subsidiary of an MNC or foreign company
  • Exclusive incubation at GUSEC is mandatory; non-incubated startups may apply but must complete a minimum of three months of incubation at GUSEC before first disbursement
  • Preference given to technology-oriented, early-stage startups demonstrating traction, product-based startups, and IP/knowledge-rich ventures
