Overview
STEM is described by FSID-IISc as one of the few truly deep science incubators in the country, operating as a domain-agnostic incubator under the Foundation for Innovation and Development at the Indian Institute of Science, drawing on more than 25 years of IISc's academic expertise. It accepts applications year-round and focuses on commercializing science and technology innovations for societal benefit. Incubation services are open to all and are not restricted to IISc alumni.

- Idea must be rooted in deep science with potential for meaningful, world-changing impact
Funding Purpose
STEM provides up to Rs. 1 crore of seed funding through grants and equity-related funding, along with access to debt funding for working capital through partner organizations, intended to take an idea rooted in deep science from concept development through to commercial success.
Application Process
Applicants submit a business plan or pitch deck to stem.cell@fsid-iisc.in. A jury assesses submissions on the entrepreneurial team, customer problem definition, IP, competitive landscape, markets, business model, financials, and societal impact.
