GENESIS, Ideation Support EIR (via MeitY Startup Hub)

Overview

The Ideation Support, Entrepreneur-in-Residence (EiR) component of MeitY Startup Hub's GENESIS scheme supports individuals at the very early, ideation stage of building a technology startup. It is part of the broader Rs. 490 crore, 5-year GENESIS umbrella scheme run by MSH to build a pipeline of innovative tech startups, meant to help a first-generation entrepreneur move from idea to prototype.

Eligibility

  • Applicant must be an Indian citizen, at least 18 years old at the time of application
  • Must be a first-generation entrepreneur dedicated to working full-time on the proposed startup idea
  • Startup should be in the ideation, validation, or early-stage phase
  • Total external funding received (including government grants) must not exceed Rs. 10 lakh

Funding Purpose

Funding of up to Rs. 10 lakh is provided for prototype development, product creation, and early scaling activities to help the entrepreneur move from an idea to a working, testable product.
