Nidhi Startup Seed Support Scheme (via Kerala Startup Mission)

Overview

The NIDHI Seed Support (SS) Program is a national scheme run by the National Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Development Board (NSTEDB) under the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India, to provide financial assistance to early-stage technology-driven startups. In Kerala, applications are administered locally through Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM). The program offers funding between Rs. 25 lakh and Rs. 100 lakh to eligible startups working with an incubator.

Eligibility

  • Company must be registered in India, and preferably DPIIT registered
  • Must have a minimum of 3 months' association with an incubator's program
  • Must have developed a clear Unique Selling Proposition through customer validation
  • Not available to subsidiaries of MNCs or branches of foreign companies
  • Indian promoters must hold at least 51% shareholding

Funding Purpose

Funds support proof of concept, prototype development, product validation, market trials, initial market entry, and eventual commercialization.

Application Process

Applications are submitted online through the KSUM website, followed by shortlisting via a one-on-one KSUM evaluation plus an initial pitch, then a final pitch presentation before the NIDHI-Seed Support Management Committee.
