Technology Transfer Scheme
Offered by Kerala Startup Mission
Overview
The Technology Transfer Scheme is managed by Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM), headquartered at Technopark, Trivandrum. It supports startups in acquiring, adapting, or commercializing technologies developed by research institutions and universities, by reimbursing a portion of the technology license fee a startup pays to a government research institution.
Eligibility
- Registered as an LLP or Private Limited company in Kerala
- Active registration with KSUM at the time of application
- Holds DIPP (DPIIT) registration and Active Compliant status with the Ministry of Corporate Affairs
- No pending dues with any Government agency, KSUM, or other state incubators, and not blacklisted by any government body
Funding Purpose
The scheme reimburses up to Rs 10 lakhs, limited to 90 percent of the technology license fee, to help startups fund the cost of acquiring or licensing technology from research institutions and universities toward commercialization.
Application Process
Eligible startups with active KSUM registration submit an online application via the KSUM portal at startupmission.kerala.gov.in. Required documents include the Technology Transfer Agreement, residence proof of directors, company incorporation documents, and an undertaking that the startup has not claimed reimbursement elsewhere.
