Overview
The Scaleup Seed Fund is a Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM) initiative that supports revenue-stage startups in scaling and commercializing technology-based products, bridging the gap between early-stage grant funding and venture capital investment. KSUM provides up to Rs. 25 lakh per startup as collateral-free debt or instruments such as CCD/CCPS, carrying 6% simple interest per annum, with a 12-month moratorium followed by 36 monthly installments, and prepayment allowed without penalty.
Eligibility
- Must be a registered Private Limited company in Kerala with active MCA status
- Must be DPIIT recognized with a KSUM Unique ID
- Must be working on an innovative product or technology, not a pure service or trade business
- Must have at least Rs. 25 lakh of revenue from the product in the last four quarters, or have received investment of at least Rs. 25 lakh from an angel network or VC
Funding Purpose
Funds are intended for product enhancement, business expansion, marketing, and acquiring licenses and certifications as the startup moves toward scale.
Application Process
Startups apply online through the KSUM website, submitting a Business Profile and Seed Proposal. This is followed by shortlisting, a one-on-one call and initial pitch evaluation, then a final pitch including a Fund Utilization Plan before the Seed Expert Committee.
