Seed Loan

Offered by Kerala Startup Mission

Overview

This is the Government of Kerala's Seed Support Scheme, administered by Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM), which provides financial assistance to early-stage startups through soft loans to support product development, customer development, marketing, and scaling up. Maximum funding is up to Rs. 15 lakh, carrying 6% simple interest per annum, with a 12-month moratorium followed by 36 monthly installments. Funds are released in tranches, typically half initially with the remainder disbursed after a progress review.

Eligibility

  • Must be registered in Kerala as an LLP or Private Limited company with an active KSUM Unique ID
  • Must hold DIPP/DPIIT registration with active MCA status
  • Must be working on an innovative product or technology, not a service-based or trade business
  • Must have no pending dues with government agencies or KSUM

Funding Purpose

Funds support product development, testing, trials, test marketing, mentoring, consultancy, IPR matters, and operational manpower. They cannot be used for founder salaries, costly assets, or patenting.
