Overview

The MeitY GENESIS Matching Investment Funding component is part of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology's GENESIS scheme, delivered locally through Amrita Technology Business Incubator. It offers 1:1 matching equity funding of up to Rs 50 lakh for startups that have already secured active interest from private investors, aimed at Tier 2/3 city startups with validated, scalable, technology-driven solutions.

Eligibility

  • Registered Indian private limited company with at least 51% Indian ownership and a valid DPIIT certificate
  • Registered in a Tier 2 or Tier 3 city
  • Technology-based startup developing products or software in domains such as Deep-tech, AI/ML, cybersecurity, IoT, blockchain, fintech, ed-tech, or health-tech
  • Only funds received from institutional investors count as matching funds

Funding Purpose

The matching investment funding, up to Rs 50 lakh, is meant to match capital a startup has already raised from institutional investors on a 1:1 basis, helping validated, technology-driven startups from Tier 2/3 cities scale further.
