MeitY GENESIS Matching Fund (via AIC ISB Association)

Overview

The MeitY GENESIS Matching Fund is an initiative of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology to strengthen startup ecosystems in emerging Indian cities by matching institutional investment already raised by early-stage technology ventures. AIC ISB, the incubation centre at ISB's Mohali campus, administers this program as a partner incubator, providing the equity-based matching contribution to qualifying startups.

Eligibility

  • Registered Indian private company with at least 51 percent Indian ownership
  • Headquartered in a Tier-II or Tier-III city
  • Holds a valid DPIIT startup certificate
  • Has a market-ready product, preferably revenue-generating
  • Only funds from institutional investors count toward matching (government grants excluded), and funds must be actually received, not merely committed
  • Must not have received prior support under TIDE 2.0 or Samridh schemes

Funding Purpose

The fund provides a matching contribution of up to Rs 50 lakhs, structured 1:1 against externally raised institutional investment and issued as equity, to support tech-based product and software development in sectors such as Deep-tech, AI/ML, Cybersecurity, IoT, Blockchain, Fintech, Ed-tech, and Health-tech.
