NIDHI Seed Support Program (via Chitkara Innovation Incubator Foundation)

Overview

The NIDHI Seed Support Program is a Department of Science and Technology scheme hosted by Chitkara Innovation Incubator Foundation (CIIF) at Chitkara University in Punjab, providing seed funding to early stage startups that have already demonstrated a validated value proposition. It is aimed at startups that are past the prototype stage and need capital to scale up and enter the market.

Eligibility

  • Company registered in India, preferably DPIIT registered or with an application in process
  • Minimum 3 months' association with CIIF's incubation program
  • Demonstrated unique value proposition validated by customers
  • At least 51% Indian promoter shareholding
  • Not a subsidiary of a multinational company
  • Founders working full time on the startup

Funding Purpose

Seed support of between INR 10 and 25 lakhs, and higher in exceptional cases, is meant for technology development and de-risking activities, scale up, market entry, product development, mentoring, consultancy, and IPR related issues, with no more than 10% of the amount allowed to go toward salaries.
